Our Energy field needs protecting

During my 30 years as a therapist, I have encountered different ways to feel if my energy field has been invaded.

This sounds a bit extreme; I hear you say.

I first became aware of energy and its exchange between people when I studied Shiatsu. Shiatsu is a ‘hands-on’ therapy using acupressure points.

I now have clients who have emotional issues and I treat them with EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique).

I didn’t understand why I suddenly experienced a backache at the same time as my client was exhibiting this symptom. I learnt to recognise that the pain in my body was not mine. My energy field was picking up their pain.

Buddhist sound bellsOnce they had left my clinic, the pain went.

Sometimes I feel very ‘down’ after seeing a client or even being in a crowded room full of people.

I discovered that I need to make sure my energetic boundaries are strong.

These days, I make sure that I ‘protect’ my energy field before I go into these situations. It is not deliberate, we all connect our energy to each other whenever we meet, even online.

I have various rituals that I have learned to make sure that I ‘cleanse’ my energy field.

I use visualisations, my sound bowl, burn sage smudge sticks or use a sea salt scrub in the shower to cleanse my energy field and my rooms, before and after these events.

I would love to know what you use to keep your energy field strong.

If you are curious to learn some of these visualisations, I will be including them in my upcoming workshop on 18th September
